About
I cater to the person who either feels intimidated walking into a large gym and not knowing what to do or who wants privacy while working out with a personal trainer. My home-based, private studio, is a "judgment-free" zone, making it easier for you to be more comfortable, honest and able to achieve greater results because of this. I customize each workout to your ability and what your individual needs are. It is NOT a "one-size fits all" approach.
I love helping people and families reach their health and fitness goals. If I can help just one person either decrease or get off their medications; have more energy to do the activities they love and that they are happy with how they look, I am a very happy trainer.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to schedule an initial "meet and greet" session so that the client can see my studio and allows us both to ask questions and see if this is a good fit. I will also provide paperwork to be completed prior to our first session.
At our first official session, I like to go over the paperwork, make sure I understand the client's goals and provide options for nutritional support. We will also take measurements and determine body composition if weight loss and muscle gain is a goal.
I am usually able to determine a client's current physical condition during the first session, allowing me to carefully plan future workout programming, as each client is unique and will require custom workouts tailored to their individual needs and goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Personal Training Diploma from National Personal Training Institute, Chicago, IL. There, I also received over 100 hours of nutritional training.
I hold several additional certifications, including Russian Kettlebell certifications I and II; TRX RIP training; USA Olympic Weightlifting; Training for Warriors; and Total Control Pelvic Healthcare.

How did you get started teaching?
I've always been athletic and participated in running events and triathlons as an adult. When I left my corporate job of 22 years, I thought that I would become a pilates instructor, but fell in love with weightlifting and kettlebell training when I went to Personal Training School.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with men, woman and kids, ages 10-82 with varying fitness levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that you "click" with your personal trainer as you will be spending quite a bit of time with him or her. If your needs are unique, you want a trainer who will create workouts to meet these needs, as a "one size fits all" approach isn't always the best approach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How committed are you to achieving your health and fitness goals?
Are you willing to be open to the advice and tools that your trainer is offering?
