About
Matt Bridges has been working in San Diego in the health industry since 2007. His mission is to help others realize how good their body can feel. In today's fast-paced society pain often times get ignored until it becomes a more pressing matter. This is not how you have to live. If you are willing to put in the work, he is here to help you take back control of your body and guide you to a healthier life. He uses a variety of rehabilitation techniques to identify faulty movement patterns and muscle imbalances while also incorporating soft tissue therapy to break up adhesions and scar tissue. He also incorporates a variety of strength training exercises and equipment to not only build strength, but also to keep workouts fun and challenging.
Your first session he will ask about your goals, past injuries and eating habits. No one has exactly the same goal and starting point, therefore no one should have the same training program. More importantly, he will start you out on a individualized plan based on your fitness level so that you get a great workout, but not a "sore for a week" type of workout. He has helped clients with all types of goals such as weight loss, strength training and sport specific conditioning; as well as medical challenges and conditions including rehabilitation and post surgery rehabilitation.

I provide an initial evaluation and go over medical history. We then do a light workout where I assess your movement and lifting technique. After the first visit, I then create a plan specific to your needs and goals. We also discuss our nutritional program and set you up on a nutrition plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the industry for 10 years. I have my degree in Athletic Training from Point Loma Nazarene University. Since the completion of my degree, I have completed numerous continuing education courses and seminars.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The more sessions you pay for up front the cheaper the per session rate becomes.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages, from 10 years old to 75 years old.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find somebody you connect with. Becoming healthier takes time and consistency and you want to be surrounded by someone that you get along with.Make sure they are qualified and required to take continuing education courses. Often times, trainers get once certification and stop seeking more knowledge.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You're investing in your health and overall life. If you pick a qualified professional its going to cost a good amount of money. Make sure you budget out how many sessions you can meet per week over at least a 6 month period.
Know your availability and make sure the Trainer can fit you in. Often times, trainers will take your money but not be able to fit you in their schedule.
