About

My experience as a trainer extends from my years as an athlete preparing for two different Olympic Games in two different sports(Team handball and long jump/triple jump), so my approach tends to be true functionality, performance and balance to ensure results durability and overall health. While I am well-verses in traditional weight training, I like to focus and utilize natural body weight exercises as much as possible to develop capable, long, lean, recognizably strong physiques.

I have had many celebrity clients in the past and was featured in "FIT" magazine along with my then celeb client, Leslie Bibb, featuring one of our kickass and unconventional workouts.

I have been a full-time trainer since 1994 and keep myself in top shape as well to keep my personal learning curve in effect which I can pass on to my clients as I continually improve in development, scope and effectiveness. I am CPR certified, however, need to renew my personal training cert. as it( from the YMCA) has expired from many years ago. Shall be accomplished in the next 60 days. Fitness is not a job for me, but a true way of life - everyday.

Firstly, I do love helping people and feel through my knowledge, experience and perspective helps me to relate to almost anyone and feel I have enough insight to find a way to make everything work and possible. The instruction is one thing but the personal aspect becomes the most enjoyable because if you're personalities and energy are compatible then so much can be achieved.

Frequently asked questions

First, I like to know what their goals are and the next step is to assess how prepared they presently are to launch off and attain these goals. I typically give them a series of basic exercises to check general athletic awareness, balance, strength and form. As  the client progresses successfully through certain introductory exercises then we can amp up the intensity and variety as they demonstrate their bodies and capabilities are ready to go. It's about performance, results and safety always.

I was a resident athlete for 3 and a half years at the U.S. Olympic Training Center preparing for the Olympic Games in Team Handball as well as being a long/triple jumper for UCLA during my years tas a student here. In the process, I participated in and learned well-structured workouts designed for optimum results and balance and durability, so my education has been extremely hands on and practical. From that level, I can adjust the workout to suit any client in any condition as I have trained professional athletes to casting directors to 75 year old newsmen with zero athletic background. The most important part of personal training is the personal part and understanding how to relate one's knowledge to another's present situation.

I have a pricing system but also make room for a client's capabilities. It's better to train someone for a little less, if necessary, than to miss out on the revenue available and the client to miss out on much needed training if the rate offers is reasonable.

By accident actually. I was being asked to help people with their workouts as I was doing mine and upon returning from Europe, another personal trainer with other entrainment industry oriented opportunities offered me to take over his clients, since he knew I knew what was doing as I had participated in several sports at a high level and understood structure, attack and really an extensive variety of ways and exercises to create meaningful, complete and intelligent workouts.

I have worked with everyone from children training for soccer and/or track n field to the elderly seeking to just maintain good health and capabilities to strength and conditioning for a professional basketball team in Toulon, France and MMA fighters preparing for the Octogon(and other cages).

Well, pretty much on a daily basis, my workout partner and I set up shop just inside the gates of Runyon Canyon Park and the amount of people familiar and friendly to us is just fantastic whether they just want to watch, inquire about our workout, actually joining or just to say hi, which happens almost constantly. The same goes for the dogs who often come over to be pet and say hi. Makes my day everyday - that connection with both people I know and don't know yet really fulfills me on many levels because I can also lend advise and generally help others.

Make sure they take the time to understand you on a personal level and how that relates to what you do physically, then figure out those bridges that let everything come together, so the experience is not only valuable, but not as torturous as it appears it has to be in order to get results. Hard work is required and shouldn't be avoided lol, but a lot can be done to find things that are effective and somewhat to your liking and compatibility. I've been doing this long enough and with enough different folks to know that I can sort it out regardless of the situation and challenges
