About
Helping others is my life work. It is a purpose that is close to my heart and is never a means to an end. This work is about the story of your life, and how to draw out more inspiration and happiness, more gratitude and fun. How to be the fullest expression of yourself, I know that you can be.
I spent a good portion of my younger life trying to gain solid ground, and not succeeding. I had to wrestle with my own negativity and limiting beliefs. I was always playing a version of myself that felt confined and restricted. I had to really grapple and struggle, and through that process I found several tools that not only lifted me out, but have helped me to help others do the same.
Whether you are in a great spot, or in a not so great spot, meditation is a powerful tool that can elevate our senses, our selves and our relationship to this life we are in.
When I can see that the hours a client used to spend thinking and churning and worrying about any given storyline of their lives now transformed into a refreshed lightness, clarity, and a sort of glow, and I know that it is because they are really taking the principles to heart and practicing them. Seeing a life legitimately and irrevocably change makes this the best work on the planet.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It's important to me to listen and understand where the student is coming from, and to build rapport and respect right off the bat. I hold a lot of care for other people, and I want to be sure that is apparent upfront. My grandfather always said, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care," and I think that is the truth.
We'll then, and perhaps concurrently, assess where we are starting from, what the goals of the student happen to be and make sure that they aren't just attainable, but inspiring and motivating. Building our motivation at this phase is important (and there is plenty of motivation to meditate!)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified to teach meditation and have studied under Shinzen Young and John Culadasa for the better part of five years. I have been meditating for nearly a decade. Because meditation is something that one can only do within themselves, it became important to me to figure out how to best communicate the sometimes shape-shifting nature of our thoughts and experiences, particularly in a meditative space where it can be hard to fully communicate your internal experience using words. I work to make this process much easier, to give you the confidence to know you ARE doing it the right way, and to help you link the benefits to the practice.
How did you get started teaching?
I naturally gravitate towards helping others, and have the desire to give other people a boost. When I have full confidence in a process, such as meditation or even staying physically active, I know how important it is to know where the hurdles are that keep others from continuing their practice or their exercise routine. In the same way that I am always looking to help others by sharing my knowledge and experience with them, I remain a student and enjoy learning more all the time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have had, and I welcome, a diverse group of students. From those that are older to those that are younger. Some picked it up quick and were self starting, others used more nuance and guidance. All students are welcome -- there is no barrier of ethnicity, age, sex, or of any other kind to improving ones life using meditation, life coaching or physical fitness.
