What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Client Introduction: This includes an in-person or phone meeting to discuss their goals, medical history, training experience, etc. As well as allow the client to ask questions about myself, my training program and how I can best support their needs.

Client Assessment: Next a movement assessment is scheduled. This assessment will demonstrate any muscle dysfunction that may be present. This information is important as it will be used to develop a truly individualized training program for the client.

Trainng Program Designed: I develop the client's training program and then schedule a phone, video, or in-person meeting to discuss the program with them and answer any questions they might have.

Training Program Begins: Client begins their individualized training program.

Mid-program Assessment: This is a "constantly assessed" concept. I use an active coaching method which involves continuous cueing and instruction so that the client is safely performing exercises and receiving the maximum benefit from each session.

Training Program Concludes: At the end of the training program a meeting is scheduled to review the client's goals, discuss their successes, evaluate new goals and decide on the next step in their health and fitness journey. Many clients continue their private training sessions, and others opt to join either our montly training programs or our online mobile coaching app.

How did you get started teaching?

In 2008 I was placed in charge of researching and implementing, a training program to prepare my infantry company for our upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. I realized that there was quite a bit that I did not know about the human system and its performance. I was instantly drawn-in and facinated with the subject and have been studying and practicing performance training ever since.

What types of students have you worked with?

Professional, college, high school, middle school, and elementary school athletes of all sport backgrounds.

Adult clientele ranging from 18 to 72 years old.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Ensure that the coach has your best interest in mind. They should be educated and should ALWAYS create an individualized, comprehensive & integrated training program based on a thorough assessment, your goals, abilities, and training experience.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What is their education?

How long have they been coaching?
