About
First, I have an UNBEATABLE guarantee. NOBODY in the gym/training/coaching biz is willing to back their services the way I do.
Next, although I've built a reputation as an expert in program design, rather than forcing MY idea of "the best training/nutrition plan ever" on you, I know how to work WITH you to build YOUR "best" program - even if it's not "by the book".
I also like to have fun with the process-of-change and always look for opportunities to throw in some sarcasm and wit... So you'll need to have a sense of humor!!!
Finally, I'm nothing like the stereotypical "rep counter" who follows you around from one exercise to another shouting motivational slogans and counting to 10 while you sweat, grumble or cry a couple days each week. Instead, I use a series of coaching SYSTEMS (both online and in-person) to ensure you gain all the knowlegde, practice and experience to create the physical and mental changes it takes to get - and STAY - lean and mean for a lifetime.
Helping people realize that they're capable of so much more than they give themselves credit for. Fat loss or otherwise improved fitness is a typical goal at the beginning of the process, but when people tell me about all the positive carryover into other aspects of their lives, well... how can you NOT enjoy that?!?

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
No cost/no obligation phone chat so I can answer your questions and also to learn more about your specific fitness goals, timelines, experience, obstacles, etc.
If we both agree it makes sense to go to the next level, we schedule a 'strategy session' to dig a bit deeper into the motivations behind your goals and work together to come up with a no-fail first-step...
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
20+ years experience coaching over 1000 individual clients, plus countless people helped through classes, seminars, published articles, media appearances, etc.
I also maintain several of the top certifications in the fitness industry, but since most people don't realize there are HUNDREDS of training certs (most not even worth the paper they're printed on), I only talk about specifics with those who really WANT to understand the fit-biz at that level! :-)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Individual workouts/lessons/meetings don't do much in the way of creating lasting change, so unlike most trainers/coaches in the fit-biz, I don't charge for a "workout" or "hourly". Instead, I offer a variety of programs, most on a monthly basis. The longest and most in-depth is a full year in duration.
How did you get started teaching?
I had some great coaches and mentors along the way and I suppose it's always just been in my nature to want to 'pay it forward'.
What types of students have you worked with?
High school athletes to "soccer moms" (and dads), models, actors, doctors, people who want to get smaller, people who want to get bigger. Busy executives, business owners, retirees, and everyone else in between.
The common thread that bonds most of them together is that they don't particulary LIKE exercise (or even the idea of it!)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's important to understand that NO fitness coach can "motivate" you to do what you don't want to do. We CAN provide information, instruction, experience, accountability and many other things, but ultimately, YOU have to WANT to create the change you want to be. A coach is sort of like a GPS/navigation unit in your car. We can TELL you what it takes to get from point A to point B, but YOU are the ONLY one who can step on the gas/brakes and steer the vehicle.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Start by writing down YOUR reasons for wanting to change.
Next, write down why those reasons are so important to you.
Now - think about how your life will be different if you achieve those goals? What if you don't?
