Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If you're looking for personal training we set up a time to go over your goals. I take you through a quick assessment. Checking your movement and addressing any issues (injuries) you may have. I write up a program for you and we work toward your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm certified Personal Trainer. I am also certified in yoga, Pilates and a variety of other classes such as body pump. I have worked in the field for over 20 years. I'm very passionate about fitness and have always enjoyed it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For one hour of personal training it's $70.
For a half an hour of personal training it's $35. Most of my six week specialty classes are $65. I have a monthly membership price. That is $59 for the month. That get you unlimited Boot Camp classes. Check the website movetrainthrive.com
How did you get started teaching?
I have always been active in sports as a young person but it was after I had my twin sons that I realized how important my fitness was. That was when I decided to get my certification and move forward in the field.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all different age levels and all different physical abilities. That's the beauty of personal training. You're able to help so many different people in so many different ways.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to make sure that the trainer is well educated and that it's somebody they feel comfortable with. Not every body is a good fit. Sometimes we have to shop around.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are you able to work with me and fulfill my needs? Everyone's needs are different and sometimes the trainer or the facility might not be able to accommodate you. That's a conversation that you should be having with the train on the very first day!
