About

On a personal note, I began my struggle with being overweight and poor eating habits in my 20's. After having children and getting caught up in the usual hectic lifestyle of mom, work, and family, I ballooned up to my heaviest weight of 350 pounds. I was lucky enough to have a successful and easy gastric bypass surgery in 2011 which helped me to control my eating addiction while I pursued my own physical fitness path. I used my education in physical therapy to help guide my recovery and progress in developing the best core and overall strength and fitness levels I can for my own personal health. My own experience in weight issues and physical fitness is what continues to assist me in helping others achieve what sometimes feels like the impossible!

As for the professional side, I've been a Physical Therapist for 21 years, specializing in Vertigo and Vestibular disorders, balance and coordination training along with all-encompassing sports, fitness, injury treatment and prevention, and generalized health and wellness. I have extensive experience in all age groups with various goals and needs. My focus is engaging as many body parts and functions possible to deliver the best workout in the most efficient and sensible manner possible. I strive to help assist clients to push past their comfort level while being mindful of limitations such as injuries and medical conditions in order to safely and effectively reach goals and help other be the best they can be!

My most recent addition to training has involved kids in sports. I have 2 boys of my own, ages 12 and 9, who are involved in basketball. While standing on the sidelines and on the coaching bench, I have watched my own children as well as their teammates grow and develop their skills in the game, however, realized there was a gap in their training. They were developing the ball handling, shooting and game play, but were missing the core strengthening, agility, conditioning, and flexibility needed to support the play. In order to help the youth improve as well as prevent injuries, I have encorporated my own basketball experiences (I played for many years up until college age) with physical therapy and training to assist young athletes in all aspects of physical fitness and improving sport performance. I currently offer individual as well as group training for children ages 9-teen who are interested in improving the variety of skills needed to excel in sports.
