X-Factor Athletic Performance
About
We are the only strength focused gym in the Midlothian area. You won't find a stronger gym, with better people for better prices anywhere.
I enjoy getting people to where they want to be and beyond. Being part of the family here at X-Factor has it's perks and I'm proud to have created something unique and special here.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with learning basic motor patterns and then move on to doing the right movements with weight when the client is ready. Technique comes first and the weight will come later. The process is relatively simple but everyone has to start at the beginning and build a proper foundation before we move on to anything advanced.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.S. in Kinesiology
M.S. in Exercise Science
Over 10 years experience as a strength and conditioning coach working with a wide range of populations with stops along my journey at a Division I university and the United States Army as part of a pilot program for injury prevention and performance for soldiers.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing starts at $350 per month for unlimited sessions and we have a student discount of 50% off of that. The more you train, the more valuable your training becomes!
Also, do the math and you'll find we are much cheaper per session than you would pay at a commerical gym. A commerical gym will advertise session cost but charge you in one monthly sum. We are honest about our pricing structure and have options avaialble as well!
How did you get started teaching?
I've been coaching for over 10 years evr since I fell in love with weight training when I started college at James Madison University. I learned everything I could inside and outside of the classroom and began coaching while in college. Afterwards I pursued my M.S. at VCU and was a strength and conditioning coach during my time there. I've had a wide range of experiences since then and have been running my own gym for over 3 years now.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with everyone from professional athletes to special forces operatives to "average" people wanting to get in shape and others who want to rehab injuries. I've done just about everything but my specialty is getting people stronger than they've ever been before.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm fond of when a female client of mine who was tired of being tiny and weak deadlifted 200 pounds and felt confident enough to wear a dress. There's nothing quite like building strength AND pride in a client and seeing them make progress physically and mentally.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask these questions of a trainer/coach:
1. Do they train themselves hard?
2. What have they accomplished?
3. What have their client accomplished?
If you like the answers to those questions then you may have found the coach for you. Don't train with anyone that doesn't have goals themselves.
