Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Do you ever go to the gym and don’t know where to begin? I can custom design a workout program for you with specifics on which exercises to do on what days, the correct order of exercises, proper number of sets and reps, and help you understand when to do heavy weight vs. light weights. I will instruct you on all exercises with proper form, keeping in mind your safety comes first. I can also guide you in proper nutrition to fuel your body and reach your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. I have a Certified Personal Trainer certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine for the past eight years. I also graduated, with honors, from the National Personal Training Institue in Lakewood, CO, in 2012. I am insured and have CPR, first aid, AED training.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The individual training sessions cost $80 and are an hour long.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with various clients from young people 17 and up, to improve their athletic performance. Ladies in their 40's, 50's, and 60's looking to offset the changes that occur as we age. People recovering from injuries and/or health conditions. People looking to increase strength and muscle growth. Folks wanting lose fat and/or change body composition. All the way to someone who is in their 80's and want's to maintain strength and balance.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Check the training and educational background of the trainer. Getting hurt will be way more harmful to your progress, in fact possibly making your condition or situation worse if you can't work out at all. You want to know they have real experience and a thorough education in personal training, not just an on-line, quickie, meaningless certification.
