Questions
Aren't you a little old to be a personal trainer?
That hurts! Actually it is a legitimate question. I started coaching people because I was passionate about staying in shape and I saw that there was a lot of misinformation about fitness. I am now in my 50’s and in better shape than ever. I am not bragging but what I have learned is extremely valuable and I like sharing it with my clients.
What equipment do I need?
I have a lot of equipment that I can bring and we will use whatever you have. I realize you probably don’t have unlimited space and money so I will keep recommendations that will fit your space and budget.
What is Functional Fitness?
Functional fitness has a lot of definitions. For our purposes I am focusing on making you stronger, more flexible and better conditioned. Fat loss and an increased metabolism are nice side effects of this form of training.
How does does personal training cost?
That is a relative question. I see this as an investment in your health and expect you to get the most out of this. Click here to go to my pricing page.
What if I have injuries I need to work around?
Let’s see if we can fix them. I am not a Doctor but most injuries that involve neck, back, elbow, lower back, knee and ankles can be minimized or eliminated through targeted exercises. I am a certified corrective exercise coach and have helped many clients become pain free.
Can I be to old to start training?
No way. I have coached people in their seventies and eighties with great success. If you are older and have medical conditions it is recommended your Doctor clears you to workout.
What if I am under 40 and interested in working with you?
40 is an arbitrary number I use because I want to train people who getting older and are serious about fixing themselves. I don’t train kids, teams, boot camps or do diet programs. There are plenty of other trainers out there that can handle that.
What if I just want to try a couple sessions, am I under a contract?
No contracts and no extra fees. Coaching is all about personalities meshing and getting along. Try a few sessions and see what you think.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash,Venmo, PayPal and Zelle
How do I find out your availability?
The best way is to schedule a free phone consult and we can go over that and I can answer other questions you have. As a general rule I have time from 5:30 a.m to 6 pm monday thru Friday but I can make exceptions. Let’s talk about it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before you make a decision, I always insist on having a free 30 minute consultation either in person or over the phone. I need to know your goals, background and get a sense if we will be a good fit. I need you to have a chance to ask me questions and if you are comfortable, we can start training.
My training is very safe and effective. What I need you to know is that I will do evaluations and we will start at a level appropriate to your fitness level and experience and build from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training clients for over 15 years now. Some of my people just want to learn what to do and they have the motivation to do it themselves. Others have realized the value in having me come over for accountability. There's nothing wrong with that, everybody is different and the key is to get results.

How did you get started teaching?
I started because I wanted to get out of the corporate world and start my own business. I grew up with asthma and was very skinny and weak. Learning how to be fit has turned my life around. Now that I am getting older, there is a real issue with my clients having neck, back, hip, knee and foot pain. My focus is in fixing these aches and pains, gettin gyou stronger and more flexible. If we can do that, then weight loss becomes effortless.
What types of students have you worked with?
My people are beteen 40 and 70 ish. If you are younger, I will make exceptions. I just find that age group to really want to improve their quality of life. They tend to listen better because they realize the consequences. They want to get back to doing the things they enjoy. Many times they can't due to old injuries, being out of shape or just not knowing what to do. My goal is to get you ready to do anything you want.
