Shawn Smith and James Woods customize a program to target your personal needs and goals. We have been with Omnifit since it's inception and plan on sticking with them for life.

If you’re looking for a personal trainer, I can’t recommend Shawn enough. Not only is he a good person with a great sense of humor, but he also garners fast results!

What an incredible team of Personal Trainers, Shawn and James. They initially listen to what you want to accomplish with your training. They develop a program fit to reach those goals taking into account your body type, fitness level, and flexibility. They adjust the program as you progress toward your goals to always challenge you. Both Trainers know it also takes a change to your nutrition, which they discuss with you. I am ecstatic I found this awesome team. I know you will be too.

I was hesitant to start a personal training program due to the cost, but the introductory session with Shawn changed all of that. I realized that my body was worth the investment. Shawn analyzed my diet and helped direct me to healthier choices. My FAVORITE thing about Shawn is his training style! I was working through some injuries and Shawn helped modify exercises so that I still worked the muscle group at hand and in turn strengthened my body to surpass the injury struggle and actually heal my body. He never let me quit, always pushed me and to this day, the best trainer I’ve ever had!!! His anatomical knowledge is incredible and he obviously leads by example!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I give every client a Functional Movement Screen & Corrective Exercise Screen to see how their body moves, strengths, weaknesses, asymmetries, injuries, etc. With this we add in depth questions and answers to determine a plan of action so we can create a roadmap for your fitness endeavor.

Nutritonal Coaching is also included for any client who needs/wants this benefit!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started teaching?
My relationship with training started over 31 years ago when a friend’s help in the gym initiated my transformation from a frail teenager to a fit and strong adult.
After realizing the changes this made in my confidence, health and all aspects of my life, my ambition was to help other people empower themselves with their bodies.
I have been a personal trainer for over 21 years and have held a number of certifications from various sports, nutrition and fitness organizations.
I am also trained in a range of strength and exercise approaches including kettlebells, post rehab and corrective exercise.
I believe in combining experiences from various schools of knowledge to achieve the best strategies for the fitness goals of my clients.

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with Athletes, Professionals, Moms, Elderly, Martial Artists, Kids, Gymnasts, Weekend Warriors, Nutrition Help, Post Rehab, Special Needs, Injury Prevention, Fat/Weight Loss and taught (trained and mentored) New Trainers.

I've also taught college level exercise psychology and nutrition!

I've been a trainer for over 21 years and I've seen so much change and worked with a huge variety of people with different wants and needs.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A recent Body Transformation Client was inspired by her results and became a Trainer, very awesome!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

If your intuition says don't, then don't! It's important to trust your instinct....

Just because someone can work you out doesn't mean they are a trainer!

When choosing a professional you want to make sure their experience and education match up with what you've set out to accomplish.

Equally important is their vested interest in your overall health and well-being.

Sometimes you get what you pay for; a lot of people are calling themselves trainers.... they give cheap deals and hurt people.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Are you a professional trainer or is this your part-time, second job?

What are your certifications, can I see them?

What other qualifications do you have?

How long have you been a trainer?

Have you ever hurt anyone?

Why should I hire you and not another trainer, what makes you better?
