The first thing I like to do with a potential client is to figure out what their his/her goals are: Why are they hiring a personal trainier? What are they looking to get out of the experience?
This is usually done over the phone. I also gather some other backround info like age, past injuries etc.
Next, it's time to meet up for an introductory session. I cover the basics and we do a simple workout. This gives the client an opportunity to expecience my training style and gives me the opportunity to evaluate whether or not they are a good fit for Dew It Fitness.
If trainer and trainee feel they would work well together, a program is created to specifically meet the needs of the client.

I fell in love with working out quickly after joining the military. Maybe my passion was apparent, because shortly after arriving to my ship, I was volun-told by my bosses boss (a kind of volunteering where you don't have a choice in the matter) to put myself up for Command Fitness Leader. The job entailed ensuring that my coworkers - and myself - stay within the Navy's physical fitness standards.
It was the most uncomfortablly challenging, yet rewarding thing I had done so far in the military. I loved it! I wouldn't open the gym for another 8 years, but it was during that time that the seed for Dew It Fitness was planted.
I have worked with everyone from people who have never worked out, to those recovering from an injury, to serious athletes.
For my 28th birthday, a group of friends and I took our first trip to Altitute trampline park. I played trampoline dodgeball for hours. It was a blast!!
I would definitely give some thought as to what you hope to get out of personal training and why. Try to put it into specific terms.
It is extremely important to share your specific goals with your trainer, and to check-in regularly to ensure that you are on track.
