Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The details depend on the service but typically we do an initial consultation where we discuss the clients expectations and goals. We will then collaborate with the client to come up with a series of actions that the client can work on to move them towards their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Precision Nutrition L1 certified nutrition coach and in the process of obtaining my ACTION-CPT for personal training.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Nutrition coaching starts at $60 a month. Most of our Wellness programs start at $50 for a 30 day program. Personal training is $50 per hour session.
We also run a variety of other programs throughout the year. Please contact us to find out what programs and specials we are currently offering.
How did you get started teaching?
I was a martial arts student since I was young and eventually became an instructor in my 20's. Life happened and I was out of martial arts, and nutrition, for a number of years. Two years ago I hired a coach and underwent Precision Nutrition's coaching and it was a transformative experience. I decided that I wanted to help people experience the same changes I had, and have made it my goal to help people become the best possible version of themself.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with people from all walks of life, but specialize in two types, martial artists (given my background) and busy professionals. My prior career was as a software engineer, so I completely understand that busy schedules and high demand careers can have an adverse affect on your health and well-being. That is why my coaching system breaks your goals down to very small and very attainable daily steps. Each step may feel tiny but it has a huge impact on achieving your goals.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always ask questions. Make sure that your coach is working with you, not forcing you into a program that doesn't fit with your life. Coaches need to be client-centric. If they are not they are doing you a disservice.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What their goals and wxpectations are. Be specific. If it's specific it can be measurable - which is how you can tell if your coach is really working well with you. "Getting healthy" isn't a goal because it's not easily measured. "Losing 20 pounds by my wedding date" is. Then your coach can create milestones to make sure you continue to move towards your goal.
