Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process begins with finding out the individual goals of the athlete. From there I determine if the goals are realistic, and the best course of action to achieve them. Then we work on scheduling, and discuss rates.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been coaching for 18 years, most of which have been at the high school level. I have a lot of knowledge in multiple sports. I was also a coach/trainer at Velocity Sports Performance for 2 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$60 for individual session, with the possibility of a discount for multiple sessions in the same week.
$50 per person for small group sessions
$30 per person for team sessions
How did you get started teaching?
I wanted to share my knowledge, and help young athletes with their development as student-athletes.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with athletes ranging in age from 10 to adults, and of all abilitiy levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I suggest asking a lot of questions, and getting to know the individual and their reason for doing what they do. If it is all about the money, then that is a problem. If they do not have any previous playing experience, and coaching experience, that is also a problem.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should know exactly what they are wanting to accomplish, and determine whether a particular coach can help them to reach their goals.
