Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first session is complimentary and we go over what the clients wants and needs are in addition to their specific goals. If they do not have a specific goal, I can help them with one or more. We then assess any medical issues and perform simple physical assessments to find a starting point. This is so we can see the progress that I reassess every 30 days. From there, I will create the individual, customized plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
National Academy of Sports Medicine Certification in Personal Training- Feb, 2021
Registered Nurse- 2001
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$20 per session. It is up to the client how many days a week they want their sessions to be. This is pretty much determined by the goal(s) they set.
How did you get started teaching?
I saw there was a need during the pandemic. I started working out of my home and realized that I could help people do the same. Many gyms were shut down or altered tremendously so folks either stopped going altogether or never got started.
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle aged females and one female in her late 20's. I will work with anyone.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Completing a half ironman and the birth of my two sons.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who truly wants you to reach your goals and make improvements. Find someone who is invested in your future. Find someone who truly values wellness in your life.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Any medical issues that need to be disclosed? Short term and long term goals? How much time and work do you want to invest to reach your goals? What changes need to occur nutritionally? Do you have a good support system? Do you want someone who will be on this journey with you and encourage you and keep you accountable? (Because I will!)
