Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We begin with figuring out what your beginning level of fitness is and what your end goal is. Then we make achievable short term goals to help ou reach your ultimate goal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Certified Personal Training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I have been training for over 2 years, from children to the gym rat to seniors.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Individual lessons: $30
Twice a week: $50
Three times a week: $70
How did you get started teaching?
I went through a terrible hamstring tear, where I could not walk and it took going to physical therapy every week for 6 months to walk again. It was in these sessions that I grew interested in how my body worked, how muscles work together, why my hamstring tore and what needed to be done to rehabilitate it. I knew I wanted to help others prevent injury and better their quality of life. I had always been an active person, playing basketball, dancing, and having a love for life and activity. I knew personal training would become my instrument to helping others gain confidence, strength, and quality of life.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children who play sports to help their muscles grow properly and use them properly for their sport.
Men and woman who want to be in better shape but are not exactly sure how to go about changing their habits and who want that accountability partner to be alongside them.
The gym rat who's done it all, and knows there is always something new to learn and wants someone to change up their routine.
The senior who wants to gracefully age so they can keep their flexibility and strength, making every day movements easier, preventing pain and aches.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Having a personal trainer is ideal when furthering you're fitness goals. A trainer helps you fine tune what you are doing, what you could do differently, and how to best workout. They are able to simplify your workouts so they are mentally and physically attainable and yet challenging enough to push your body to keep progressing. Working out will help you improve your quality of life, prevent back and knee pains, lessen chronic illnesses, boost immune systems, and increase mental strength.
