What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Dependent on level we start with a crawl, walk, run approach to build confidence in the student's ability to focus during the stressful time of combat engagement. Ensure student is ready mentally before moving on to more advanced training with sparring effectively being the ultimate goal.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The number one question you should ask is "What am I looking to do with this training?" This matters because if you are looking to compete, the training regiment will vary to get you ready for fighting.
