Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our typical process is to start out with getting to know what you are looking for a program. Getting a better understanding of what types of workout programs you have done in the past.
We will also discuss past or current injuries. This is a key focus, because if there is an area of the body we need to work on building up, then we can develop a program designed for that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training clients for over 7 years, been in the fitness industry for 14 years, and growing up I played football, wrestled, ran track, and baseball.
I have trained in a lot of different modalities over the years.
There are several certifications I have acheived as a fitness coach over the last seven years. I am also a certified Nutrition Coach.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is dependant on how many days per week we would be training in a month.
There are options to pay weekly or monthly, unfortunately there is not a option to pay per session.
Creating a consistant workout schedule, requires a commitment. Not just from the Coach, but on the clients part as well. People who are more committed to the process will see the results they are looking for.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching back in 2015, while working as the General Manager of a franchise gym.
One of the trainers who taught a boot camp style class suddenly quit, which put the members of his class in jeopardy of canceling their membership. As I told them the news about the trainer quitting suddenly a lot of them expressed their unhappiness with this situation. Without hesistation, I told the members of the class to give me a few minutes to put together a workout, and I would meet them in our Group Exercise area. That is how I got started with teaching and then progressed to opening up a fitness studio.
What types of students have you worked with?
Working with students of all kinds is something I enjoy. Young, old, overweight, super athletic, kids, etc.
Throughout my career, I have always kept an open mind to whom I am working with. Another reason why I do a face to face interview with clients before working with them. This way the client and myself are comfortable with working with one another.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I am very fond of, is one of my clients recently hit the 50lbs weight loss mark.
When we started working together they were recovering from their battle with cancer. Physically they were not able to compelete a full workout in the beginning. They had difficulty eating more than 500 to 600 calories a day because of their condition.
After six months of working with this client, not only have they become physically stronger, they are able to do multiple workouts a day and they are eating 1000-1200 calories a day.
This was such a huge accomplishment for this client. They battled through some serious ups and downs. To see this client smiling more, and motivating other clients I work with by sharing their story is truly a great feeling.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
MEet with them and seee if they are good fit. Just because a coach you are looking to work with LOOKS fit, you may not have a good relationship with the coach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Biggest thing to focus on when it comes to finding a Coach is making sure they are attentative to your goals and needs.
