About
Hey everybody! My name is Ricardo, but everyone calls me Ricky. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management with a concentration in Sports Management from Ashford University and an MBA in Finance from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. I'm also a Certified CrossFit Level 2 Instructor and also currently hold various other CrossFit certifications. Aside from that, I'm also a Certified Catalyst Athletics Level 1 Weightlifting Coach and also have OPEX Fitness Level 1 Coaching Certificates in Assessment, Program Design, Life Coaching, Business Systems, and Nutrition. Last but certainly not least, I also hold the distinction of being a BioForce Certified Conditioning Coach, a Sealfit 20x Challenge Finisher and a CHFI Gen Pop Transformation Coach and Level 1 Performance Nutrition Coach.
Aside from my various certifications, I also have an extensive background in sports. In 2007, I played professional basketball in Puerto Rico for the Santurce Crabbers, winning the National Championship for the 6th time in franchise history. I have also worked as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Puerto Rico Women’s National Basketball team, among others, before moving on to serve as the Assistant to the Men’s National Basketball team’s General Manager. It was after this that I found the world of functional fitness and haven't looked back since.
My training philosophy is based around individuality. Every client is different, whether it be their goals, needs, wants, limitations and/or fitness experience, which is why each one should have their own personalized training program. When you train with me you can expect to have your own tailor-made training and nutrition program. My goal is to help you reach your goals!

My passion for fitness knows no bounds and I use it as a tool to help others achieve their goals. I believe that fitness and conditioning go way beyond just going to the gym and working out. For me, both make up the gateway to a better version of yourself and have the power to profoundly change lives, just like it did mine.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical training sessions have a single focus for the day. One can be straight weightlifting, while the other can be just conditioning. I believe that by focusing on one thing at a time per day, my clients can devout all their energy and effort to it and thus get the best results out of it. I'm also a big believer in each of my clients having an individualized training program that's geared to their needs, wants and, of course, goals. Also, expect to work hard but have tons of fun on each and every training session with me. Remember that it's not just about reaching your goals, but also enjoying the heck out of the journey there!
