Have been doing yoga for a few years but needed some time to undo bad habits and gain insight into the asanas and how to deepen my practice. She has been illuminating and has natural healing gift. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, we start with a phone call to discuss your needs, desires, goals, past/current health conditions/issues and/or injuries, and we make a plan that works with your body and schedule. We pick a day and time or several days a week to be your designated private yoga/meditation coaching time.
The first session will include Sukshma Vyayama; a whole body warm up of all the joints. This first class will be gentle and a helpful assessment for planning future classes.
Each class will be tailored to your requests, abilities, and specific health needs as a form of yoga therapy to find the perfect practice for your body type and lifestyle.
Usually, students start out with our 6 week (Initiation) or 12 week (Illumination) package, then guided where to go from there. Some students may need private instruction for several months while others enjoy it for years to come with your trusted private yoga instructor. Some after 6 weeks may even feel confident to venture into the gyms to practice with a group. What ever your needs may be, we cater to making our sessions the most personable experience!
Our goal is to find the perfect type of yoga for each student whether it's starting out with chair yoga, beginners yoga, or more advanced such as Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga. We insure proper alignment and breathwork is occurring during the entire session and offer hands on assisted stretching and modifications for every pose. We love watching our students grow!
We believe everyone CAN practice and receive the benefits of yoga. However, everybody's practice will look different.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yogi Mandhi has 20+ years of experience practicing and teaching yoga, with 6 years teaching privately with individuals, at businesses, and hosting special events. She received her official yoga certifications in 2018 & 2019 from the Ayur Yoga Ashram in Bangaluru, India under the guidance Sri Soham as well as many other experts in the field of holistic and natural medicine.

A private yoga or meditation session for an individual is $120 for an hour session. Additional traveling expenses may apply depending on your location.
Group rate for 2 or more participants is $80 a person (Minimum two people.)
Special events and Corporate Yoga at businesses and organizations vary depending how many participants are attending.

How did you get started teaching?
Yogi Mandhi or Mandy first started yoga as early as 4 years old, but didn't know she was doing it! As a child gymnast and cheerleader, she always loved the stretching component of class. When Mandy graduated in 2003 at 18, she fell in love with Yoga at Shapes Gym for Women. She loved it so much she went every Sunday like it was her church and became a substitute teacher after only a year and half of practicing under the guidance of an amazing teacher Theresa Clearo. Then as life continued, Yogi Mandhi found herself teaching yoga to kids and teachers at the elementary school she taught at. Then, one day her whole life changed, and she realized what her calling was: to spread the joy and health benefits of yoga to nontraditional students. She began teaching private yoga and dived right into the realm of personalizing yoga sessions. Many of her students had severe health issues or limitations due to surgeries or injuries. With each student, she learned how to create unique yoga sessions that fit the needs of her students. What types of students have you worked with?
Yogi Mandhi LLC specializes in personalizing yoga sessions for individuals, groups, parties, special events, and corporate gatherings.
Private Yoga:
We believe that everyone can practice some form of yoga. Some may need to start with chair yoga, while others need advice on how to modify poses to fit their abilities. Some students may be professional athletes wanting to train holistically and increase flexibility with personalized yoga that assists the advancement in their particular sport. Many students have never tried yoga and have found success working with a private instructor. Students as early as 5 and up to 95 can practice yoga.
The styles of yoga we teach include (in order from easiest to hardest):
Reiki - A Full body energetic tune-up with Pranic/Lifeforce energy while relaxing in Savasana
Yoga Nidra Meditation - An ancient tantric style of guided meditation
Chair Yoga - Gentle yoga in a chair
Yoga Therapy - Personalized yoga sessions geared to balance health conditions and regulatory systems in the body
Restorative Yoga - Easy gentle yoga
Yin Yoga - A slower paced class focusing on just a few asanas with long periods of deep breathing in each pose
Kundalini - Moving energy with yoga and breathwork
Flexibility - Easy to advanced levels available
Hatha - Easy to slightly challenging yoga routines with long holds in each asana
Ashtanga - An athletic and dynamic form of yoga to build strength and flexibility
Bikram - Similar to Ashtanga but with more standing asanas
Yoga Dance - Exploring movement with yoga asanas and dance

Yogi Mandhi LLC has worked with many companies throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond since 2017, bringing chair yoga, corporate yoga classes, guided meditations, yoga online, and hosting at corporate retreats. We make classes fun, enjoyable, and personalized to your specific needs and requests. Additionally, we love pairing yoga and meditation classes with sound artists in the area, adding sound therapy from crystal bowls, gongs, and guitar serenades during Savasana. Describe a recent event you are fond of.
At Yogi Mandhi LLC we often book private yoga parties for birthdays, bachelorette parties, reunions, etc. We recently planned a surprise Bikram Bachelorette Yoga on the Beach at Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. The bride was so shocked as she stepped out onto the beach to see a circle of yoga mats and peaceful music awaiting their arrival. The ladies hangovers were soothed with aromatherapy and some deep breaths leaving them feeling refreshed and ready for a new day after class. We ended the class with a guitar serenade during Savasana and group photos on the beach!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Good questions to ask yourself is what do you want to achieve from your practice? Are you trying to reverse adverse health conditions, lose weight, or have other long term goals in mind? Yoga is an overall great workout and form of therapy. Yoga brings your body back into alignment in a gentle, natural way. In some ways yoga can be a form of gentle chiropractic and massage, but controlled by the student. However, the benefits from yoga can last longer than a chiropractic visit or massage because it starts to shift how you take care of your body. This is because yoga increases ones awareness or mindfulness. What you learn on the mat (like relaxing and breathing when you are in an awkward position) often translates out into the real world.
