About

A commitment to the individual needs of the student and constantly looking for ways to improve and provide a better, well rounded service have been my trademarks for over 20 years as an instructor/trainer.

My 39 years in the martial arts have given a solid foundation upon which I've built a program that has successfully served students in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

A jujutsu black belt, over 20 years as a personal trainer/group fitness instructor, certified by the American Council on Exercise as well as boxing and kickboxing allows me to develop programs tailored specifically to the individual with due respect to their personal safety.

I enjoy...love...seeing the progress in those I train whether it's an improvement in their physical appearance and/or an improvement in their skill development. It gets me HYPE and on my toes to ensure the progress positively continues.

Frequently asked questions

Beginning with a free evaluation, I learn the student's natural abilties as well as any health and/or medical condition(s) that may affect their training. I immediately begin to formulate their projected program. Challenging, safety, and fun are the key elements in every program I design. Once the student executes a fluid competency in the assigned material, I slowly advance them to the next level.

I began teaching martial arts for my intructor at his school in Brooklyn when I was 12 years old. With his blessing, and insistence, I began teaching on my own at age 21.

As a fitness trainer, at age 20, I realized that i truly enjoy helping others achieve and improve their fitness levels.

I've worked with all age ranges from preschool to senior citizens. I've trained the awkward to the professional athlete and everything in between. Regardless of level, every student is my priority.

There are so many but I'll say a student of mine who I trained for about a year decided she wants to also become a trainer after seeing my passion and love for what I do.

The teacher you hire should make you feel comfortable and should pay attention to YOUR goals and not just have you train according to the latest fad.

- How long have you been teaching?

-How do you deal with a student having a hard time grasping some of the material?
