Phoenix Dragon Martial Arts
About
Jun Sa (Warrior) Hap-Ki-Do is a Korean style combat martial art that literally means “The way of coordinated power.” It applies both long and close range defensive techniques (we do not teach initiative attacks.) Hapkido emphasizes circular motion, non-resisting movements, emphasizing control of one’s self as well as the opponent for ages 3 through adult.
Gauzabara, an edged weapon martial art is a unique culmination of a lifelong study by founder Maestro Edgardo Perez of how pre-Columbian warriors dealt with edged weapon attacks. For most people, defense in a confrontation where the other person pulls a knife is just not possible and life threatening injuries may be only moments away. In order to have a choice, you must train with the very weapons used by the attackers. This is one of the few systems that take this approach to survival on the street.
Warrior Fit is a unique cardio kickboxing program developed by Meghan, this is NOT your typical health club dance move based kickboxing class. Each workout session will be different from the next and will focus on strength training and cardiovascular endurance using calisthenics, plyometrics, body weight resistance exercises, martial arts techniques, kettlebells, free weights, combat ropes, and other equipment, all guided by your instructor, Meghan Ventura. The sessions are designed to be safe and efficient, meaning you will burn more calories and gain more muscle in less time than your average workout without compromising form.
The martail arts we teach, Hapkido and Guazabara as well as our Cardio Kickboxing classes are our utmost passion in life. As husband and wife instructors and owners, we strive to provide the most realistic self defense training there is and we take great pride is passing our knowledge on to our students.

From a cirriculum perspective, find out if the facitily teaches a sports martail art such as JuJitSu or Teakwondo or a more self-defense hand to hand martial art. At Phoenix Dragon we teach two realistic martial arts, Hapkido and Guazabara. Hapkido is a self defensive martail art while Guazabara is an edged weapon martial art system. We have no sport aspect to our systems like sparring for points.
