About this pro

I’ve been training for over 12 years. My workouts and nutritional advice will help you reach your health and fitness goals.

Every aspect of my philosophy is based on the latest, cutting-edge scientific research, not magazine articles or the latest fad workout or meal plan.

I can help you with weight loss, strength training, core & balance, control your blood sugars, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and many other things.

I like seeing my clients progress with their workouts.  I have had several clients that start the sessions with back pain and after we are done they are no longer in pain.

Many clients have started with a limp from joint pain and by the end of the session they can walk straight again.

I have videos on my website where you can see the actual results!

Workouts were consistently focused on pushing me to the very edge but always with the mindset of safety and remaking injury free!

When I started working with Rafael, I was pretty sure I knew how to lose the weight and get in shape. He dealt with my stubbornness and I more than reach my goal. I surpassed it because he help me see the best in me.

Rafael helped me lose weight and body fat. I was out of shape and had bad posture when we met. He gave me a meal plan to help me lose weight with foods I actually liked to eat. He made it easy for me to reach my goals and challenged me when it was too easy! Lol. I recommend him to everyone.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We will first meet for a free assessment & transformation plan and go over your goals.

After I gather all the information, we will do a movement assessment to see which muscle needs work and I’ll begin creating the best fitness program for you.

You’ll try out the workout and then we’ll map out the fitness program for the next 3-6 months.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Certified Trainer through NASM

Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM

Performance Enhance Specialist through NASM

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Everybody's needs are different.  There is no cookie-cutter price or plan.

I only discuss pricing after our free consultation & transformation plan session.

How did you get started teaching?

I had dislocated my shoulder from 2002-2005. In 2005 I had my long waited surgery and needed to do something right after I graduated from college.

Personal Training came to me as I was recovering from my surgery, and it slowly but surely became a passion of mine as I helped hundreds of clients reach their fitness goals.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with people coming out of Physical therapy, people trying to lower or control their blood sugars, high blood pressure, or cholesterol, and sport specific.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Do your homework. There are a lot of people out there claiming to help you by giving you fad diets or cookie cutter workouts without a single form of nationally accredited certification.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What ever concerns they may have about their fitness journey.

Think about what exactly you want.  What is your goal?

Visualize the best way you want to reach your goal. Is it working with a friend or partner? Is it working out at a park or in your home?

Are you looking for joint pain relief? Weight loss? Or simply to add more steps to your day?

Do you need to change your eating habits?

Think of how many times per week you want to workout.  How long do you want to be coached? A year? Longer?

What are you looking to accomplish once you reach your goals? Are you wanting to hike with your family and keep up?  Do you want to play with your kids or grandchildren?

Once you visualize what you want, it's time to devise a plan to get you there.
