Earning a NASM Personal Trainer Certification has allowed me to understand more about biomechanics and how to improve my ability to assess the needs of my clients for accelerated fitness results and injury prevention.
Prior to moving to the Washington DC area, I was a lead strength and conditioning coach at NESPI (New England Sports Institute) in Holland, CT training athletes of all ability levels from ages 10-18.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A typical session with me consists of developing a strong knowledge of the clients goals and training background. I will accommodate for each individual athlete in which the manner that I coach depending on their experience, ability, and knowledge on exercise. I place a strong emphasis on technique as well as building my clients confidence in the specific goal we are looking to achieve. All of the exercises and weight training will be customized for the client as well as challenging, and high energy.
I am a strong believer in mental preparation as well as training hard but smart.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a collegiate and professional track and field coach who has broken into the strength and conditioning/personal training industry. My versatility in track and field coaching has developed into helping my athletes meet their goals in the following ways:

Prior to moving to Maine, I was a lead strength and conditioning coach at NESPI (New England Sports Institute) in Holland, CT training athletes of all ability levels from ages 10-18. In addition I design the Strength and Conditioning program for the Track and Field team at Johns Hopkins University. Currently, I'm the Assistant Track and Field Coach at Bates College.
