Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Building a workout program involves first understanding the potential new student. It's important for us to understand their goals, their past experiences, and any limitations that may be present, be it medical history or schedule limitations. This allows us to build the program around the students life.
Next will be the planning phase, where we piece together your training program based on all of the initial information that we've gathered. Once the program has been built we coordinate schedules for the training sessions, be it online or in person.
Once we have times scheduled we will conduct the initial portion of the workout program which includes building technique and easing the new student into training. Once we've got a solid foundation, we will begin the normal workout program.
Over time we will continuously check in to make sure progress is occurring and we have the opportunity to make adjustments to the program to better suit the students goals.
This is our simple, yet effective, approach to helping our students learn about the process, and in the end, be able to create workout programs for themsevles, if they desire such skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ACE Personal Training Certification
ACE Personal Training Certification (In Progress)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Generally, a 6 month program is long enough for a student/client to see significant fitness progress regardless of the goal. 6 Months will be our standard and pricing may vary if students are looking for a longer, or shorter program. We are accomodating and can also work within your budget (within reason)
How did you get started teaching?
10 Years of Natural Bodybuilding and many conversations with inquiring friends and family members later I decided to finally pursue Personal Training. I would often teach people in person proper technique, give them training programs, and help them reach their goals, simply because I loved helping others. It is my goal to be able to provide this service to many others and ultimately allow them to thrive in fitness and health for the rest of their years!
What types of students have you worked with?
There is no single type of student I've worked for.
Age Range: from 15-50+
Weight Range: from 110-350lbs+
Height Range: from 5'2"-6'5"
Athletic Experience: None - Experience Athlete
I've worked with people that fall within that spectrum and have seen amazing results in the different, customized workout programs, specifically tailored to their individual needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you're looking to hire an expert make sure they are one that's committed to contributing to your overall knowledge, and will help build your programs specifically to you. It's easy for personal trainers to give each client the same workout template and call it day, however this ignores the facts that each student is different, has different limitations, and different abilities. It is in the individualized programs that you will see a better balance overall in muscular symmetry and development. You should also go into it with at least a small base of knowledge, this way you can pick up the training much quicker.
For anyone newly starting out I always recommend this online course that teaches those basics of some diet tips, muscle groups, and basic workouts to train them. It's an amazing resources for all beginners!
