Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start with a FREE consultation that lasts about an hour. In that time I focus on where the person is at, what they have done in the past as it relates to their current goals and dive deep in to what their goals are and why they are so important.
From there we get out on the floor and I take the information gathered along with a thorough movement and strength assessment (appropriate to the person's physical abilities and goals) and use all that data to provide an on the spot customized workout.
I want the person meeting me for the first time to understand how well I know what to do for their program in design and care.
Fitness can be an intimidating experience and I want to make sure each person feels comfortable and confident with me and their program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 4 national certifications through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine)
1. Certified Personal Trainer.
2. Corrective Exercise Specialist.
3. Fitness Nutrition Specialist.
4. Performance Enhancement Specialist.
I also have 2 certifications through NSPA (National Sports Performance Association).
1. Certified Program Design Specialist
2.Certified Sports Nutrition Coach.

How did you get started teaching?
I started lifting weights when I was 13 years old and never looked back. Through high school sports and throughout the rest of my life I continued leveraging workouts and fitness as a way of life. 13 years ago I turned that love and passion for health and fitness in to a career that has given me many achievements and I've gained so much inspiration through the clients and co-workers I've had the pleasure of working with.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with people from 17 years old up to 75. I've trained professional baseball players, stay-at-home dads and moms, corporate executives, chefs, students, lawyers, chiropractors, doctors, musicians, you name it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You want to find a professional that listens, and knows how to support your individual needs and motivations. Someone who doesn't have a, "my way or the high-way," mentality but at the same time knows how to lead.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What kind of expectations would you have about what it would take to get to your goals? Sometimes this is the gap that separates a person from their desires. That's why having a great coach that supports and keeps you inspired is the bridge that leads you to success.
