Nancy is a very kind and knowledgeable trainer. I started working with her 6 weeks after my daughter was born and really enjoyed the companionship of working out with other moms. Nancy's model for fitness is great, having a space for moms to work out and space for the babies to play is invaluable. I enjoyed the plan that Nancy put me on which was right at my level for postpartum and she was a great new mom support!

Nancy's approach to fitness has changed my life. She is the third trainer that I've worked with, and the one I credit with finally helping me to lose those extra inches from my pregnancy...and then some. Nancy's personal attention really pushes you that extra mile or two... She has encouraged me to exercise consistently, set realistic and attaintable goals, and reach them. I am now in the best shape of my life.

I wanted you to know that all of the hard work we started last spring is paying off. As you know, I couldn't work out for several years due to an accident that left my back and neck injured. After training with you through the winter and spring, I have been working out several times a week through. Thanks for your encouragement throughout. I also wanted you to know I've been brave enough to start up at my regular gym, doing yoga, treadmill, weights, core exercises and some boot camp workouts. This past summer I even did water aerobics and kick boxing.

Working with Nancy was a great way to jump start my fitness program. She helped tailor a routine that I could pursue on my own. I am feeling stronger, more energetic, and most importantly, more positive about my fitness future. The summer boot camp was a great way to meet some women who had the same goals and could be supportive of each other--not to mention inspire me to get up and get going! Thanks, Nancy!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I have the new student fill out forms that cover some general information about their health and their goals.  We go over the paperwork and discuss it more in detail.

We then design a program together that will work for them now.  I want my clients to feel comfortable and confident from the moment we start working together.  We modify and adjust the program as my client gets fitter and stronger.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 20+ years of experience as a certified personal trainer.   I also have a certification for post-rehab.

I have worked with clients from 13 years old to 91 years old.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge by the length of the session.  I offer 30, 45, and 60 minute sessions.

If I am traveling to you, I have an additional travel fee for my time.

I offer a 5% discount when you purchase 5 sessions and a 10% discount when you purchase 10 sessions.

How did you get started teaching?

I enjoyed seeing myself learning how to get fit and strong and wanted to share my passion with others.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with woman only or men as part of a couple.

I have worked with clients from 13 years old to 91 years old.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I had a mom's class and all of the moms decided to train for a 5k.  It was a lot of fun training them for that and having each one cross the finish line!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Pick someone who makes you feel good about where you are now and the goals you want to accomplish.  A supportive and encouraging trainer makes the journey so much sweeter!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Think about several short term goals that you know you can reach without too much effort.  Then think about several long term goals that will recover some change and effort.

Discuss both with your trainer and see what you can do together to make them do-able.

Reaching both short term and long term goals keeps you motivated to keep going!
