What gives me the most joy about what I do is the empowerment factor. I give individuals the knowledge, tools and most importantly the confidence to make lifestyle changes and better themselves. I believe physical education is something that is introduced at a young age and if done properly shapes us the rest of our lives and I love being apart of that! I'm eager to help in any form or fashion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically schedule a consultation to ask some questions about health, injuries, goals and and what to expect. I have the client fill out some consent forms and together we decide the best program for the individual going forward. From there we would schedule the first session which is going to be an assessment to create a baseline to measure progress in the future. Then we get to work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in school for exercise science through International Sports Science Association. I'm a certified personal trainer, certified youth fitness trainer, long term athletic development specialist, athletic assessment certified and currently in a course to receive a group fitness training certification. I am also CPR/AED certified.
I have been a Military Training Leader (PTL) for the last 4 yrs of my active duty service in the United States Air Force and have been trading individuals long before actually going to purse a certification.
As a good trainer should I am constantly reasearch info and learning new techniques and reading scientific studies related to the fitness field. It is also a must to keep up with new trends and learn new ideas to keep workouts fun and fresh.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing sytem is based on an hourly rate and depends on the services requested. More details are shared during the consultation.
How did you get started teaching?
Passion. I have naturally been coaching and helping reach fitness goals my whole adult life. One day some one in my chain of command asked me why am I not a certified trainer yet, and that started my journey.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with athletes as young as 4 to establish coordination, balance and body awareness through movement. I currently work with adolescents to increase their flexibility and range of motion. I also conduct training to improve their speed and power production through form correction and resistance training. I've worked with active military members who've had goals to successfully pass their Physical Assessment Test, helping them increase their upper body strength, cardio endurance and core strength. I've also assisted service members gain strength and mobility through functional training which closely correlate to the demands of their job. I've also worked with beginners, my oldest being my 65 ur old mother whose goal is to shed a few pounds, become more mobile and have more energy to keep up with the grandkids.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My fondest recent event is having the pleasure of training my own mom. She's my fav client!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the person you are looking to hire is CERTIFIED!!! Don't be afraid to ask for a certificate number and if it has an expiration. Also make sure they are insured. A personal trainer is just that.....Personal. They should ask you a lot of questions to figure out the best program for you as an individual. If a person hands you a cookie cutter, copy and pasted program to soon without asking questions and giving you some type of an assessment, that is a red flag!!! Make sure the trainer is the type of trainer you need. You don't want to hire a yoga certified trainer to help you gain muscle. Make sure they are the right fit for you. Most importantly understand fitness is a process. Your body took a while to adapt to a non-active livestyle so you getting the instant results you want are gonna take a few weeks. A good trainer is going to remind you of these things and keep you motivated by helping you notice the improvements you have made already, and reminding you why you started in the first place. Happy hunting!!!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about commitment level. How many days a week am I going to dedicate to workout? What are my obstacles. What specifically do I need from this trainer? Am I will to make lifestyle changes to better my quality of life and see the desired results?
