Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first like to get to know each new client. I want to know about their daily routine, from the moment they wake up to the moment they sleep. What are they eating? Do they drink enough water? When is the last time that they exercised? There are so many questions to ask, and it is important this is done before starting a physical assessment. Once enough information has been gathered, we can start to learn the warm-up process together. Dynamic stretching with attention to form will enable us to administer an effective fitness assessment: endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, & more!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.S. Exercise Science & Sport Studies, Rutgers '13 ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) '13-'16 IFA Group Fitness Instructor & Personal Trainer ASHI CPR/AED Certified 10+ years of fitness training experience

How did you get started teaching?
I first took up bodybuilding as a hobby in 2009, and quickly started sharing my knowledge with friends and family. Then, as I prepared to graduate Rutgers University in 2013, I was hired to formally train students, staff, and faculty on campus in New Brunswick. Later on, I moved to training out of a private studio in Highland Park. Feeling restricted in my work environment there, I decided to move on and focus on growing my then fledgling business: Feel Think Fit. Today, I am happily serving New Jersey's fitness community throughout Middlesex and beyond!
What types of students have you worked with?
The majority of my clientele are between ages 30-60, are new to exercise, fitness, and nutrition, but yearn for a positive workout experience. However, some of my clients are experienced, strong, and determined to find that extra push and discipline that they struggle to maintain on their own. In the past year, I have seen an increase in inquiries by individuals recovering from injuries such as disc herniations, strained/pulled muscles, ruptured meniscus and knee ligaments (e.g. ACL, MCL), and more. I am greatly accommodating of these kinds of limitations, and am skilled in modifying exercises to limit pain, discomfort, and reduce risk of further injury.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ensure that the actual trainer you end up working with is well educated in his/her craft. There is a low barrier to entry in this industry, so I advise caution when contracting individuals to work with you hands-on to improve the quality of your health.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are you currently medically cleared to begin an exercise program? If not, please consult with your physician regarding your status. What are your expectations of working with a personal trainer or exercise specialist? What are your goals, and what do you hope to achieve? Have you had any significant injuries to your body in their lifetime? Have you had any surgeries in your lifetime?
