About
CakeFit trainers specialize in injury prevention and post-rehab, which includes teaching proper running form and weightlifting technique. We also understand that fitness includes a healthy lifestyle, so we provide nutrition coaching as a part of our training program. We are teachers, first and foremost, and our goal is to empower you with the knowledge you need to keep your body chugging along, well into your 90's!
It sounds cheesy, but we love taking a client from "zero to hero"! When someone comes in with chronic back and shoulder pain, and over time, we get him/her strong enough to lift 100+ lbs, it's really rewarding. Our motto is, "Saving the world, one squat at a time."

How did you get started teaching?
We started out injured and suffering from chronic conditions that we couldn't improve from by going to the doctor. Fed up and desperate, we learned two valuable lessons: strength reduces the risk of injuries, and health starts with food.
What types of students have you worked with?
We've worked with everyone from young professionals to 70+ year old retirees. Everyone can benefit from our expertise
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Research the trainer's certification. The following certification bodies are the best: NASM, NSCA, ACSM, and ACE. Make sure the trainer has advanced certifications/training, such as corrective exercise, performance enhancement, or functional movement.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about how much time and effort you are truly willing to commit to getting healthy. Every trainer will appreciate someone who can be honest and recognize what it will take to achieve certain goals. Wanting abs, for example, is a tremendous commitment in terms of diet and lifestyle, so it is best if you know ahead of time whether that is something you can actually stick to.
