Davis Collins has been competing ever since he could place one foot in front of the other. Sports being his first true love, throughout his childhood and late teens he spent most day’s up playing baseball, football, soccer, and track and field. After high school Davis attended and earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise sports science with pre-physical therapy emphasis from Texas State University. During those years Davis shifted his focus into long Distance running/trail racing. A few years out of College Davis tried out CrossFit and immediately fell in love. Four months later and Davis got his CrossFit Level 1 Certification and started coaching at CrossFit Central shortly afterwards.
Davis has a largely varied coaching skillset, ranging from general strength building & conditioning to sports specific training, and has a special passion for sports injury prevention, maintenance, and rehabilitation. His goal in life is to give to others what fitness has given to him, life.
My passion is life is helping people achieve goals they thought impossible.
I started working with Davis about a year ago with the goal of gaining strength to compliment my already established marathon training. I share my training plans with him and he tailors each workout to accommodate whatever running workouts are on deck that week. This communication and flexibility has helped me gain a ton of strength while staying happy, healthy, and injury free! Since numbers speak, I'll share that in the past year I've gone from not really knowing how to pick up a barbell to a 175 pound deadlift and an 85 pound push press (those are my favorites). I've also cut 16 minutes from my marathon time, am noticeably leaner, and feel stronger during the hard runs. Statistics aside, working with Davis is really FUN! I really look forward to spending time in the gym with him and always leave smiling... and tired in that good "I got my butt kicked" way.
Davis was amazing. He helped me build strength while maintaining a lean muscle mass. He really helped me dial in my nutrition as well as perfect my lifts. He is by far the best motivator I know His radiates positive and supportive energy. He can help anyone achieve their goals. I gained 10lbs while managing to get my body fat percentage under 10% all from his diet tips. I wouldn't want to train with anyone else.
Typical training session depends on goals/purpose of training. If someone is looking for functional everyday fitness, expect a dynamic warm up, strength component, a skill/gymnastics component, a metabolic conditioning component, and a stretch to finish off the session.
Wellness stems from the 5 Pillars which I incorporate into my training/life.
