What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Joey Cifelli is a certified personal trainer with over ten years of experience. His training as an athlete, his studies, and his work in therapy and sports medicine give him a unique edge as a personal trainer. A football player whose college career was sidelined by an injury, Joey decided to put his passion for athletics into his studies, earning a B.S. in Exercise Science and Sport Studies (Applied Kinesiology) from Rutgers University.
He then went on to work in physical therapy and sports medicine at the prestigious Princeton Orthopaedic Associates, where he focused on resistance, range of motion and cardiovascular work. At Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, he worked with patients going through physical rehabilitation and earned high accolades for patient care and safety.
In the four years he spent at Crunch Fitness Union Square -- the fitness chain’s flagship location in NYC -- Joey’s experience and education set him apart and allowed him to connect with a wide variety of clients at different fitness levels and ages. He quickly rose to the position of Master Personal Trainer.
Joey understands that different people have different fitness needs, and he never uses a one-size-fits-all formula. His work in different training settings informs his approach, which focuses on form, strength and safety. Joey’s vision is to help as many people unlock their physical potential, improve quality of life and supplement unhealthy lifestyle habits to reduce risk of disease.

What types of students have you worked with?
Our programs are customized for ladies and gentlemen over 40 who dont know how to get started or feel a little nervous in the gym. We teach you the right way to do all exercises on day one. Once you get weight training technique down, we'll keep you on program remotely.
