About

I specialize in mobility, balance and strength for active agers (age 55+). I understand this population because I fall into this age group. I won't make you "jump around", unless you really want to :)

I will help you improve your current fitness level so you can stay active and independent through your golden years. I also help individuals recovering from an injury keep a consistent exercise program post-physical therapy.

I am certified through the Amercian Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer and Senior Fitness Specialist. I will customize a program around your goals. I offer in-home sessions, or you can visit my gym location in Millard.

I love watching my clients gain confidence with their balance and overall strength. Loss of strength is one of the most debilitating consequences of physical inactivity combined with aging, and you can gain strength at any age.

I love watching my clients leave a training session feeling happy that they spent time with me and energized to go about their day.

    Frequently asked questions

I consult with a new client to understand their goals.  I also work to gain background on their physical, medical and exercise history. If there is an exercise history, I ask them to share the types of exercise they like and dislike.

Based on this information, I show them examples of the exercises we would start with to ensure I'm a good fit.  If I am, we align on days/times and I begin to prepare a program customized around them.

I am certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer and Senior Fitness Specialist.

I watched my mother struggle with health and mobility issues after a terrible fall. She spent many hours in physical terapy, which helped, but she did not have the desire to exercise between sessions or after discharge.  After watching my mother and many, many of her friends experience similar issues, I decided to turn my love of exercise into a new, fulfilling career.

My clients range from age 35 to 97. Many of the senior clients I work with were referred by a geriatrics doctor or physical therapist to continue their exercises post-physical therapy. I also teach classes to 55+ apartment communities and independent and assisted living facilities.

Ensure that the personal trainer is a good fit for you.  Will you enjoy spending 1 to 3 hours a week with this person.  Does the trainer understand your goals and how will he/she help you meet these goals.
