Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Fitness has to be fun and fit in to our lifestyles, so I try really hard to get to know my clients as people so we can incorporate the changes they need to make in to their lives in a practical way that works for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified in Pilates, personal training, indoor cycling and MFR and am also a certified mindfulness coach and Reiki Master. I also hold degrees in law and public health from the George Washington University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$50 per hour paid in advance for live with less than 20 min travel time. $40 per hour Zoom. Packages are available as well, customized for the individual's needs.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had the gift of helping people feel better and become empowered. Working with mind/body fitness is just natural to me. I started coaching tennis when I was in high school and haven't stopped teaching since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with people aged 5 to 95, from kids to elite teen athletes to rehab clients and grandparents.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We drove from Mismi, FL, to Nashvillle on Monday, February 15th - in the middle of the blizzard. We had no sleds or waterproof gloves. Tuesday morning we bought a shower curtain and trash can lids to improvise sleds and spent the day climbing up and sledding down Capitol Hill.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you trust and respect, and who you like being around, even on your bad days. Personal trainers and wellness coaches are here to teach, motivate and encourage you, to listen to you and support you, so that trust and respect and sense of camaraderie are really important.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How much time do they have to exercise? What will get in the way of achieving their goals? What lifestyle issues should we take in to consideration when starting a wellness program?
