Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process is easy. Meet the student. Then I talk to the student about his or her needs. Next I will conduct a fitness assessment/fit test. After that, I talk to the student about nutrition. Lastly, I take that information and create a workout plan and meal plan for that student. Then we train hard!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a sports performance coach, a group Fitness instructor, personal trainer, martial arts instructor, and strength & conditioning coach. I hold B.S. from JSU and I am currently in a Masters Program studying Sports Science with a concentration and strength and conditioning. I have a certification in personal training, strength and conditioning, and sports nutrition. I am also studying for my CSCS. Education never ends!
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when my football career ended. Due to injury I could not play anymore, so I decided to get into coaching football players to stay close to the sport. Then my skill just evolved based on my back ground with martial arts and football into weight loss, personal training, and sports specific training.
